Reception

Our school Mission Statement is  'I have come so that they might have life and live it to the full' (John 10:10) and in Reception this is at the heart of what we do.

St. Clare's Reception is the place where fun and learning happen every day. We do this by providing a mixture of learning opportunities during the school day, such as child-initiated play, guided play actively supported by adults and adult focus-led learning. We help the children find and discover curiosity and wonder in all that surrounds them, helping them to follow their hearts and minds as they grow into independent learners. We work hard to cultivate a love of learning and self-belief in our children that enables them to take risks and 'have a go', growing in confidence without fear of failure so that they can flourish to become the creative thinking independent learners they are destined to be.
